The Guelph Giants Special Needs Hockey Foundation ("the Guelph Giants", "we", "us", or "our") is a community-based Foundation in Guelph, Ontario that provides inclusive, skill-based hockey opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the athletes, families, caregivers, volunteers, and website visitors in our community.

It applies to this website and to the personal information we collect when you register an athlete, contact us, donate, or volunteer with the Foundation. • Contact details — such as an athlete's and parent/guardian's or caregiver's name, email address, phone number, and mailing address — provided during registration or when you contact us.
• Registration and program information, including an athlete's date of birth, program placement, relevant health and support information provided by families to keep athletes safe on the ice, and emergency contact details.
• Donation and payment information processed by our payment or registration provider when you pay program fees or make a donation.
• Technical and usage information collected automatically when you browse the site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring source, gathered through cookies and analytics tools.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Register athletes, place them in the right program, and run our Fundamentals, Junior, and Intermediate programs safely.
• Communicate with athletes and families about schedules, practices, games, tournaments, and Foundation news.
• Process registration fees and donations and issue receipts.
• Respond to your enquiries and support our volunteers and coaches.
• Operate, maintain, and improve our website.

4. Registration & third-party providers

Where athlete registration, payments, or donations are handled through a third-party provider, the personal information you provide is collected and stored by that provider on our behalf and is handled under its own privacy and security terms in addition to this policy.

We use that information only to administer our programs — to place athletes in programs, share schedules, and contact families. We do not sell personal information.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it is used, and improve it. We may use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to measure traffic.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to register or participate in our programs.

Access is limited to the volunteers and administrators who need it to run the Foundation. Our programs serve children, youth, and adults with intellectual disabilities, and registration is completed by a parent, legal guardian, or caregiver where appropriate. Personal information about a minor or a supported adult is collected and handled with the consent of, and through, that parent, guardian, or substitute decision-maker. Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children online.
